Safety Guidelines

BFDD Usage and Safety Guidelines

Rogue Arsenal products are intended for lawful adult training use only. Always read and follow all instructions, warnings, and safety information before using the BFDD or Specialty Blank Munitions.

Important: The BFDD and Specialty Blank Munitions are inherently hazardous. Improper use can cause serious injury, burns, hearing loss, blindness, disfigurement, death, or property damage.

Required Safety Guidelines

  1. Keep vent ports away from your body at all times. Never hold the BFDD by the end with the ports.
  2. Throw only on hard, flat surfaces. The BFDD is designed for use on concrete, brick, decking, tile, wood, or other hard surfaces. We recommend tossing the BFDD lightly on pavement in a clear area. If using on dirt, ensure the ground is firm and free of tall grass. You may need to throw the device harder on softer ground for proper activation.
  3. Always use the safety pin when loading blanks. Ensure the pin is fully inserted before loading the device. Remove the pin only immediately before throwing.
  4. Keep the mechanism clean and free of debris. Regularly check and clear out any dirt or debris that may affect performance.
  5. Light primer strikes may occur. If the device does not activate, wait several seconds before approaching. Try throwing it again on a different, harder surface.
  6. Do not use near flammable materials. Ensure your environment is safe before using the BFDD or Specialty Blank Munitions.
  7. Always wear proper safety gear. Hearing and eye protection should be worn at all times while using the device.

Additional Safety Requirements

  • Use only compatible 12 gauge blanks with the BFDD.
  • Do not modify the BFDD or blanks.
  • Do not use damaged, altered, dirty, or obstructed equipment.
  • Keep all products away from children and unauthorized users.
  • Store products securely and in compliance with all applicable laws.
  • Use only in a controlled, lawful, and safe environment.

Waiver Required

Certain Rogue Arsenal products require a signed Liability Waiver and Release Agreement before shipment. Orders requiring a waiver will not ship until the waiver is completed.
